WARNING: This journal contains a World of Warcraft story.

Alright, so my boyfriend got his WoW account hacked early this morning. We went through the whole procedure, changed his password, called Blizzard, ticketed a GM, the whole deal. So I was going through his bank toon double-checking to see what all had been taken when it hit me - Check the auction house! Now, several very odd things were taken from us. For example, I had exactly 20 Shadowcat Hides, which were from Classic WoW (and we're on expansion two...don't even know why I still even had the things!) and guess what? There were 20 Shadowcat Hides in the AH from a character named Zsaa.

So my boyfriend and I went through and searched the entire AH, and sorted it by name... The character Zsaa had a lot of auctions, and most of the stuff in the AH were things that were taken from us, exact quantities and everything.

So, looks like Jake and I found our lolhacker. What. A. Moron. I think that this person was pretty stupid for posting our stuff in the AH hours after taking it. So yeah, I'm not really angry anymore, I'm more... sad... sad that someone so stupid was able to hack into my boyfriend's account.

Heh, he had me pick a new password. No one will every guess it now! I'm crafty. Bwahahaha.

When online gaming and morons collide.... It's a tragic, yet almost hilarious tale at the same time.

Although I'm a D&D girl... I can image how I'd feel if someone 'hacked' one of my characters- so my sympathy goes out to you.

More hilarious then tragic, then again it wasn't my account ^^; Though, even Jake was laughing about it when I found the guy.

Let me guess, computer D&D? You should try old school paper and pencil D&D.

Nope... Actually- old school D&D. I prefer it too computer based RPG's because of the level of freedom in it (you can do anything). In the middle of a campaign right now, and my character is Charna (the Damphire).

I'm also in the process of creating a race of R.O.U.S's- I call them the 'Rodelden...... Think Reepicheap from Narnia. It's fun because I get to mold history, religion, and language.

Yea, I prefer old school more, too. More freedom of the mind and imagination. What version?

Ummm.... Kinda a mix. Hubby and I are new recruits- so we read up on the 3.0 version (I think)... I know it's one version down from the newest update... Mostly because the DM thought some of the new 'upgrades' were uneeded/ stupid.

That being said- he's pretty much got every manual made- so I've been looking through all kinds of versions. Our friends a great DM, because as long as your not being cheap (aka- creating a level 1 character that could kill anything)he'll let you do whatever you want... That's why I'm currently a swashbuckling, revenge driven Half-Vamp. We just went through and figured out the do's and don't of the character.

Ah. I've read some of the other rulebooks, but the last time I played it was version 3.5. I didn't much care for the way 4 looked, so I never bothered. And just going with what you want works.
